Welcome to The Chicago Tax Club

The Chicago Tax Club, organized in 1933, is a nonprofit association consisting of individual tax professionals employed by corporations and other businesses. The principal function of our organization is providing educational and networking events, in order to assist our members in identifying and resolving tax compliance, planning and audit issues relating to their employers.

The Club is dedicated to the professional development of our members, promoting an interchange of ideas and mutual assistance among members and providing the opportunity to participate in accredited continuing professional education programs (CPE and CLE). The Club also fosters the highest standards of integrity, competence and professional ethics and it recognizes that an atmosphere of mutual trust and confidence must prevail among the membership, other tax professionals, employers and government tax administrators.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of The Chicago Tax Club has decided to cancel the Fall Seminar, previously scheduled to be held on October 28-29, 2020 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.  However, the pandemic has not slowed our Club in providing new and exciting ways to connect and offer professional development opportunities to our members.

Our committees are currently organizing a Summer and Fall Learning Series featuring free CPE-eligible webinars on a variety of topics including Federal, State, International, Indirect/Operational, Ethics, and Tax Administration.  These online educational events will be co-sponsored with several of Chicago’s leading firms and organizations.  As soon as the topics, dates, times, method of registration, CPE available, etc. are finalized, there will be email notifications sent to our members, and announcements posted on our Club’s website (www.thectc.org/) and app.

Additionally, our committees are working on new ways of keeping our members connected, such as through smaller roundtable meetings.

As we deeply value the personal connections that our Club provides, we plan on hosting in-person meetings and seminars as soon as it is safe.  Continue to stay informed through announcements on our website.

To you and your families, please stay healthy.

Regards,

James W. Stipanowich

2020 President, The Chicago Tax Club
